Arkansas Energy Sector Partnership (AESP)

This multi-agency partnership, led by the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, funds training required for green jobs. Training is available through two-year colleges and apprenticeship programs. Industries of focus include:

  • Energy efficient building, construction and retrofitting
  • Renewable electric power
  • Energy efficiency assessment
Three Energy Centers of Excellence - NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Phillips Community College of the UA, and Pulaski Technical College - are developing training that can be distributed statewide.

AESP partners include Arkansas Workforce Investment Board, Department of Workforce Services, Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges, Arkansas Apprenticeship Coalition, Arkansas State Office of Apprenticeship, Winrock International, Arkansas Department of Career Education, nine Regional Partnership Teams which include all ten Workforce Investment Boards, Non-Profits, and Energy Efficient and Renewable Energy Industries.

AATYC Heart of Arkansas Regional Training (HART) Consortium
Central Arkansas two-year colleges with manufacturing technology skills training have organized to provide new “green” industry training and to inject “green” methods/concepts into existing technical programs.
The HART Consortium includes:

  • Arkansas State University-Beebe
  • College of the Ouachitas
  • National Park Community College
  • Pulaski Technical College
  • Southeast Arkansas College
  • University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton
