Who attends Arkansas' Two-Year Colleges?

Currently, our two-year colleges serve more than 43,000 credit students across the state. In addition, more than 48,000 residents are continuing their education and upgrading skills in our WorkForce Training program and other non-credit courses.

  • The average student is 27.5 years old.
  • Over 50 percent of the students are female.
  • Approximately 42 percent of the students are over age 25.
  • The percentage of African American students attending two-year colleges in Arkansas is 16.9.

Most students work part-time. Many students work full-time and attend classes at night, on the weekend, or through distance education.
