Distance Learning Coordinator

East Arkansas Community College is seeking applicants for a Distance Learning Coordinator. The distance learning coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and will be responsible for: promoting EACC distance learning, identifying needed courses, working with faculty to develop courses, and assisting with faculty and staff development as applied to distance learning. The educational/experience requirements are: A Master's degree with three (3) years experience with compressed video and internet classes.

Program Coordinator for Business and Information Systems Technology

Mid-South Community College

This is a full-time, 12-month position with full college benefits.

Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree in education or related field and at least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably at a community college; working knowledge of the principles of curriculum development and assessment strategies; excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a good working knowledge of computer applications, with ability to work effectively with diverse faculty and students. Must be able to develop and execute plans with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities: The Program Coordinator reports to the VP for Learning and Instruction with responsibility for coordinating the academic departments under his/her administration, monitoring instruction to ensure quality and appropriate student learning, and resolving student complaints. Duties include the following:

  • Communicate and monitor goals and measurable objectives for BT and IST which directly support the College's mission and purposes, strategic goals and vision statements.
  • Provide positive leadership and supervision to ensure efficient operations and customer service in a learning-centered environment.
  • Know and interpret college policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets in support of operational planning and to ensure efficient and appropriate expenditures of funds.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs and support services to ensure appropriate student learning.
  • Ensure professional development opportunities for faculty to improve student learning and retention to goal achievement.
  • Supervise and evaluate faculty assigned
  • Assist faculty with the selection and ordering of textbooks and instructional supplies.
  • Assist with recruiting and marketing for BT and IST programs
  • Collaborate with the VP for Learning and Instruction in scheduling classes and instructors for BT and IST classes.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate attendance records and reporting for students enrolled in the MSCC Technical Center.
  • Serve as disciplinary officer for the MSCC Technical Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $45,000-$55,000 depending upon credentials and experience with full college benefits. Proposed Start Date: August 22, 2008.
